As all of us are also aware, in India, Jio and Airtel SIMs are being used most, and now even the SIM of the company named VI is also in use. But over the last 1-2 years, SIM providers have started reducing some cheaper options, and it is now expected that the rates of various plans offered by Telecom operators will also be hiked. As to what rates the price is going to be hiked, all information about this is included in this post.

How much percentage increase is expected in the telecom companies’ recharge plans?
Reports suggest that Jio, Airtel, and VI telecom companies may hike plan prices by about 10% to 15%. The companies can do this anytime between December 2025 and mid-2026. Both prepaid and postpaid plans are expected to face this hike. For instance, a recharge plan which costs ₹199 may go up to ₹222 in the future, and an 84-day plan may shoot to about ₹999. However, it’s very crucial to note that there has been no official announcement yet from telecom companies themselves on this matter.
Why will Jio, Airtel, and VI telecom companies increase their recharge plans?
Telecom companies such as Jio, Airtel, and VI are increasing their recharge offers to increase their ARPU, or “Average Revenue Per User.” Increasing the ARPU will surely provide strong financial support to these companies, and with this support, these companies will surely invest a lot in their systems and provide their customers with 5G connectivity. Everybody is well aware of the fact that in the year 2024, telecom companies increased the rates of their services, and after several months, these companies stopped offering cheaper recharge offers to their customers. For instance, Jio stopped its ₹119 plan, offering customers 15 days of connectivity.
Jio, Airtel, and Vi telecom companies are discontinuing their cheaper plans.
Many people in India are dependent on cheaper plans, but since 2024, telecommunication companies have almost finished all low-budget plans, and hardly any such plans are available. The reason is that many poor users have now shifted to mid-range or expensive recharge plans. Now, the various old SIM card users are changing their SIM cards and shifting to BSNL provider because BSNL company provides cheaper plans. Jio, Airtel, and Vi should also think about the need of the people.
This is the right juncture at which people should consider recharging or reloading their sim card, especially if they can use a 3-month plan, as it might be more advantageous to use it at this time. People should consider recharging their cell phones now if they are not sure whether they can get more validity and more recharges at the same amount after the price hike. People whose sim card doesn’t expire should consider recharging their sim card now.
